I’m so happy to be able to say my new blanket pattern is now available!!! This design has been such a long time coming. I’d had this idea floating around in my head for months until I finally had enough time to start making it. The idea started off when I was making cushion covers and working out how to join hexagons together to make a square shaped panel. When I played around  with the templates it dawned on me that by spacing the hexagons slightly it would create a diamond pattern in between the hexies. The really fun thing about this design is that you can get creative with it. Use as many or as few colours as you like. I went for a solid mustard colour with cream for the border. My wonderful pattern testers used a variety colours to create a pretty striped effect. The pattern is written to make a blanket measuring 34x40 inches. This was a fun little make I came up with after running my first 10k race. Race is probably not the right word though! I'm no athlete but I finished and its the taking part that counts right? Made using 2 colours of Paintbox Yarns Wool Mix Super Chunky this hat is fun, quick to make and so cosy!   It’s worked in the round from the top down to the cuff. The main body of the hat is worked in continuous rounds with no seam and no need to slip stitch to join each round. This pattern will make a small ladies sized hat. You could also make this a larger/looser fit by adding another row of increases   after row 5. I’ve also made this using a 7mm hook to make a matching child's size version. This quick little make is a great use for any leftover bits of t shirt or chunky yarn. I used the Hoooked ribbon and zpagetti yarns to make these cute little gifts for my little boy's pre-school teachers. The pattern would suit any yarn that has a small amount of stretch in it and it's really simple to adapt. I've made these using paintbox yarns chunky acrylic too and it works perfectly! You will need: Just a small amount of yarn and a hook size to match (with the t shirt or ribbon yarn I use 9mm or chunky acrylic with a 6mm) a small plant pot. I love working with T-shirt yarn and it's perfect for making this chunky 'granny rectangle' rug. Working with T-shirt yarn can be a bit tricky (and a work out for the arms!) but the results are really effective. The yarn can vary slightly in thickness so try not to worry too much about tension, just be as consistent as possible, embrace the imperfections with this project and enjoy making your own unique rug. I was recently gifted some lovely soft chenille style chunky yarn and immediately set about finding the perfect project for it. The loop stitch works perfectly for this type of yarn. It's super soft and squidgy making it ideal for a statement cushion, this method would work great for a rug too. The loop stitch gives a really nice textured effect that works up quickly in a chunky yarn. It's worked using alternating single crochet rows which creates a neat smooth side. The loops can be made shorter or longer and can also be trimmed when finished to give a fun 'long pile' look.
